Summary of Conditions

Well, the bite has been really good as of late, though not entirely in the pattern we're used to. On the downside, dorado just haven't been that plentiful this summer, although things have been looking better over the past couple of weeks. The upside: not just one, but TWO big schools of yellowfin are working the East Cape region. The school on the outside (as far as 50 miles) has got the peludas big-time, so if you want to catch a triple-digit tuna, now's your chance. Be careful what you wish for . . .

Billfish have also been good. Sailfish and blue marlin (to 400-lbs.) are spread throughout the fishery, and there's even been reports of a few black marlin. Inshore, the story is the jacks, with all local species very active.
